A Legacy of Leadership. The Power of Community. Embracing the Future.

Dear Friend,
You are invited to join us for a milestone celebration. CSC’s 30th Anniversary Gala will take place on Thursday, September 10, at 5:30 PM at the Hamilton Hotel, 1001 14th Street NW, Washington, DC. This evening will honor leaders whose vision, philanthropy, and advocacy reflect the spirit and mission of CSC.
Our theme, “Legacy of Leadership. The Power of Community. Embracing the Future.” celebrates three decades of collective impact. The evening will recognize leaders whose sustained commitment to communities reflects CSC’s spirit and mission, and whose work will inspire the next generation.
Since 1996, CSC has grown from a single initiative focused on preventing children from entering foster care into a comprehensive network of programs addressing violence prevention, reentry support for formerly incarcerated women, rapid rehousing, workforce development, and community stabilization.
We do more than respond to crises. Our work is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and build a stable life. We create clear paths toward that change. Through the Cosmic Wolves soccer program, young people channel their energy into leadership, mentorship, and structure, preparing the next generation of leaders while reducing the conditions that fuel violence. When families face housing instability, trauma, or barriers to employment, CSC meets them where they are, walking alongside them through each challenge. Families gain the tools, resources, and support required to build stable lives.
We are at a critical moment. CSC has experienced significant funding losses—resources that directly served youth and families in our community. This gap threatens our capacity to maintain the very programs that have created measurable change. The Gala is not simply a celebration. It is an urgent opportunity to secure the future of this work.
Our goal is to raise $500,000 to bridge this gap and maintain the programs that make this work possible. These funds will sustain child welfare services, violence prevention initiatives, workforce development training, rapid rehousing services, and comprehensive support for youth and families at risk.
Your tax-deductible contribution at a level meaningful to you will help ensure CSC continues delivering these critical services. As a partner in this work, you will receive regular updates on the impact your investment makes; stories of families housed, youth employed, and communities stabilized. You will see directly how your support translates into changed lives.
We invite you to join us in celebrating 30 years of CSC’s work and in investing in the next chapter of opportunity, healing, and empowerment for the DC community.
With gratitude and partnership,
